Tenor ALEJANDRO ROY will be making his debut at The Metropolitan Opera in New York next October 31 as Calaf in Puccini's "Turandot" under the baton of maestro Marco Armiliato and the legendary production by Franco Zeffirelli.
 
Our young mezzosoprano EMMA SVENTELIUS has made her debut as Octavian in Strauss masterpiece "Der Rosenkavalier" at Theater Bonn, having been unanimously acclaimed by reviews because of her tender lyrical singing and absolutely convincing body language in this trouser role.
 
Audience and critics have praised the powerful voice, flexibility and timbre shown by LUIS CANSINO as Giorgio Germont in Verdi's "La Traviata" at Staatsoper Stuttgart. Also during this October, the Spanish baritone has embodied Amonasro in Verdi's "Aida" at the Temple of Hatshepsut in Luxor conducted by maestra Oksana Lyniv.

Chilean bass-baritone RICARDO SEGUEL has taken over the hilarious role of Mustafá in Rossini's "L'italiana in Algeri" at the Municipal de Santiago (Chile) with maestro José Miguel Pérez-Sierra conducting.

Our baritone HRÓLFUR SAEMUNDSSON portrays Alberich in "Hagen // Die Ring-Trilogie – Teil 1" (a very interesting work based on Wagner's monumental Gesamtkunstwerk) at Theater Aachen this month.
 
Dream role debut also for our young baritone LEIF JONE ØLBERG in Tchaikovsky's "Eugen Onegin" at Den Jyske Opera. 
 
Soprano SVETLANA MOSKALENKO has become La Contessa di Folleville in Rossini's "Il Viaggio a Reims" at the historical stage of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow with maestro Tugan Sokhiev conducting and staging by Damiano Michieletto.
 
Mezzosoprano ANNA AGATHONOS has achieved a great success as Teresa in Bellini's "La Sonnambula" at Greek National Opera thanks to her impeccable singing as well as her impressive acting skills.
 
New theatre & role debut for promising tenor FABIÁN LARA as Mario Cavaradossi in Puccini's "Tosca" at Národní Divadlo Opera in Prague, conducted by Andreas Sebastian Weiser and a staging by Arnaud Bernard inspired by the Academy-awarded film "The Lives of Others".

The so long-expected world premiere of Hans Abrahamsen's first opera "Snedronningen" (The Snow Queen) based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale in a visually impressive staging by Francisco Negrin has featured our singers SOFIE JENSEN, JOHANNE BOCK and SIBYLLE GLOSTED.This piece will also be enjoyed within the current season at Bayerische Staatsoper.
 
Dramatic tenor KRISTIAN BENEDIKT has starred as Don Alvaro in Verdi's "La Forza del Destino" at Teatro São Carlos in Lisbon and Porto.
 
Bass TADAS GIRININKAS successfully tackled the role of devilish Méphistophélès in Gounod's "Faust" at Theater St. Gallen.
 
Brilliant baritone MANEL ESTEVE portrayed an evil Enrico Ashton in Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor" for Opera Berri at ABAO Opera in Bilbao under the baton of maestro Riccardo Frizza.
 
Along with ensemble MusicAeterna conducted by maestro Teodor Currentzis, bass EVGENY STAVINSKIY participated in Mozart's "Requiem in D minor"(KW626) at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.

Croatian soprano MARIGONA QERKEZI makes her debut as Matilde in Rossini’s Guglielmo Tell at Teatro Sociale di Como Aslico.  Future performances in Cremona, Brescia, Pavia, Bergamo and Pisa.

Spanish baritone LUIS CANSINO sings Germont in Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata at Staatsoper Stuttgart conducted by Friedrich Haider.
 
MOISES MARIN sings the Lerma and Herald in this season’s opening Don Carlo at Teatro Real de Madrid conducted by Nicola Luisotti and directed by David McVicar.
 
Dramatic soprano MIINA-LIISA VÄRELÄ debuts with Vier Letzte Lieder by R. Strauss with Odense Symphony Orchestra on 5th of September in Denmark.
 
Mezzo soprano ANDREA PELLEGRINI sings concert on the 5th and 6th with "Rued Langaard Selskabet" in Denmark.

Tenor CHRIS LYSACK sings the title role in "Les Contes du Hoffmann" by Offenbach at Deutsche National Theater in Weimar on 8th of September, followed by 11 performances over the season. He is doubled in the role by American tenor ERIC FENNELL.
 
South African baritone LUTHANDO QAVE stars again as Figaro in Rossini's "Barbiere di Siviglia" at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen on the 21st of September followed by 10 performances until 21st of November 2019. SIMON DUUS sings Bartolo in the same production.
 
SIMON DUUS sings Songs of Travel with the "Danish Song Society" on 29th of September.
 
American dramatic tenor JEFFREY HARTMAN has his debut in the very demanding role as Jean in Le Prophéte by Meyerbeer at Landestheater Linz on 22nd of September. 12 more performances follows over the season until 3rd of March 2020.
 
Danish soprano SOFIE JENSEN has her role debut as Micaëla at the Royal Opera of Copenhagen together with Danish bass STEFFEN BRUUN as Zuniga on 18 of September. Production is directed by Barrie Kosky under the baton of maestro Alexander Vedernikov.
 
Swedish bass MATS ALMGREN sings Verdi Requiem at the Gothenburg Opera on 27 and 29 of September.

Armenian/Canadian mezzo soprano NORA SOUROUZIAN sings Jezibaba in Dvorak's "Rusalka" at Theater Sankt Gallen in Switzerland with premiere on 29. 10 further performances until 15 of February 2020.
News of August 2019

 

Baritone LEIF-JONE ØLBERG sings Schaunard and Canadian/Portugese soprano CASSANDRA LEMOINE sings Musetta in Puccini's "La Bohème" at Copenhagen Opera Festival.
 
Outdoor arena Opera Hedeland in Denmark presents a sold out "Carmen" with 3.500 tickets a night on 09, 16 and 17 of August, starring ANDREA PELLEGRINI as Carmen, MAGNUS VIGILIUS as Don José, LARS MØLLER as Escamillo, YANA KLEYN as Micaëla, SIBYLLE GLOSTED as Frasquita, WILLIAM PEDERSEN as Dancaïre and JONATHAN KOPPEL as Remendado.
 
As part of the Richard Wagner's Ring, Den Ny Opera in Esbjerg, Denmark, stages "Das Rheingold" on 25, 28 and 31 of August with JOHANNE HØJLUND as Flosshilde and Erda, TRINE MØLLER as Wellgunde, MAGNUS VIGILIUS as Froh and LARS MØLLER as Donner.
 
Mezzo soprano FRANCINE VIS has her house- and role debut as Tisbe in Rossini's "Cenerentola" at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. Premiere on 24 of August followed by 9 performances until first of October.
 
ALEJANDRO ROY celebrated another success in the role of Cavaradossi in the last performance of this year’s Torre del Lago Festival on August 24. This was the best possible ending for Alejandro Roy’s engagement in this summer’s edition of the most renowned Puccini Festival in the world.
 
FABIÁN LARA made his debut at Torre del Lago as the main tenor role, Roberto, in the first opera written by Puccini, Le Villi. The reviews praised and highlighted the beautiful dark baritone color of his voice and the boldness and quality of his high register. A tenor to keep an eye on.
 
Huge talented young Danish tenor ANDERS CHRISTENSEN has his role debut as Don Ottavio in Mozart's "Don Giovanni" on 24 of August at Aarhus Sommeropera, Denmark followed by 10 further performances until 14 of September.

German mezzo soprano DOROTHEA SPILGER sings Fenena at Braunschweig Staatstheater. Premiere on 17 of August with 9 more performances until 4th of September.

ALEJANDRO ROY performs at this season’s prémiere of the prestigious Puccini Torre del Lago Festival  as Dick Johnson in La fanciulla del West next to the Minnie of Maria Guleghina conducted by the Festival’s president Alberto Veronesi. He got excellent and unanimous praise for his rendition of this repentant bandit.
 
RICARDO SEGUEL sings the role of Ginardo in Matilde di Shabran at the prestigious Wildbad Rossini Festival.
 
Spanish tenor MOISÉS MARÍN joins Plácido Domingo at Teatro Real singing Delil in a concert version of Verdi’s Giovanna d’Arco.

News of March 2019

Kristian Benedikt sings Calaf in the new Robert Wilson production of Turandot at Lithuanian National Opera on 01, 02/03 and 06/04. Later in the month he sings Samson at the renowned MET Opera in New York on 29 of March.

Magnus Vigilius sings Hamarki and Lars Møller sings Sepa in the rediscovery of August Enna's "Cleopatra" at Danish National Opera. The whole production tours Denmark with 12 performances from 1st of March until 12 of April.

Steffen Bruun sings Hayden's Schöpfung on 16 of March with Odense SO.

Sofie Jensen sings Aase, Simon Duus sings Jens Grand and Teit Kanstrup sings Herold in the new production of the Danish National Opera "Drot og Marsk" at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen. Premiere is on the 23 of March with the last of 10 performances on 25 of May.

Svetlana Moskalenko sing Lakmé in her house debut at the spectacular Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman on 29 of March. Alejandro Lopez covers the role of Nilakantha and Eric Fennell covers the role of Gérald.

September 2018
Toi toi tonight on the 14th of September to Miina-Liisa Värelä. She has her house debut as Senta in "Fliegende Holländer" at Finnish National Opera, followed by 6 more performances until 11 of October.
 
Алексей Тихомиров (Alexey Tikhomirov) will sing Shostakovich Symphony 13 on 21,22 and 25.09, with Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Riccardo Muti

Magnus Vigilius sang , on 31.08 and 01.09, the demanding role of Celebrant in Bernstein's "Mass" at its first performances ever in Denmark, with Odense Symphony Orchestra. On 26.09 he will have his house debut at Opera de Dijon as Steva in "Jenufa" followed by two more peformances.

Emma Sventelius has her role debut as Carmen and Conny Thimander as Remendado at Malmö Opera on the 15. singing a staggering 26 performances!!

Lars Møller sings another round of Holländer at Landstheater Niederbayern with premiere on 22.09.

On 21.09 Sibylle Glosted will sing the premiere (house/role debut) in "Fantom of the opera" at "Det Ny Teater" in Copenhagen as Christine Daaé, Rasmus Jupin as Ubaldo Piangi. Cassandra Lemoine will also appear as Christine in later performances. The musical plays until end April 2019.

 

Passagerin in Aarhus

Scandinavian premiere on 22.08.18 of Mieczyslaw Weinberg's "The Passenger" (Passazhirka) in Aarhus with Danish National Opera (Jyske Opera).
Stage director is Philipp Kochheim and conductor Christopher Lictenstein.
Toi toi to the two wonderful singers Leif Jone Ølberg who will both sing "Tadeusz" AND play the violin, and to Johanne Højlund who will sing Krystina!!

Raimondo, Normanno and Arturo at Hedeland

 

On 4th of August, the is role- and stage debut to Rasmus Jupin as "Arturo", Jonathan Asmund Koppel as "Normanno" and Steffen Bruun Rørvig as "Raimondo" in "Lucia di Lammermoor" at Denmark's answer to Arena di Verona, OPERA HEDELAND. Followed by two more performances.
Johannes Schmid regi at Läckö Slot

 German opera- and movie director Johannes Schmid has directed Marschner's "Der Vampyr" for the first time ever in Sweden.
Premiere is 15th of July 2018 followed by 12 more performances.

Kleyn, Benedikt and Girininkas in La Juive
Yana Kleyn sings the very demanding role debut as Rachel in Fromental Halévy's "La Juive" tonight on 14 of June 2018 followed by 10 more performances until 9 of July.
The production takes place in 3 historic locations (one outdoor) in Konstanz, Germany. This city was place of the "Konzil von Konstanz" 600 years ago in 1418, which is what the original story of La Juive is based upon.

 

Also in the cast is Kristian Benedikt as a fantastic Eleazar, Tadas Girininkas as a superb Cardinal Broigny all directed by the wonderful stage director Johannes Schmid.

The RIng in Odense

 

For the inauguration of "Odeon", the new culture house in Odense, R. Wagner's "Der Ring des Niebelungen" is playing two times from 22nd of May to 3rd of June.
I wish huge toi toi to the whole production, especially Miina-Liisa Värelä as Sieglinde; Kristian Benedikt as Siegmund; Torsten Kerl as BOTH Siegfrieds; Magnus Vigilius as Froh; Andrea Pellegrini as Rossweise and Flosshilde, and Johanne Bock as Grimgerde....
