Hanna Rantala joins Ascolta Artists

 

We are happy to welcome our new sopran Hanna Rantala from Finland.
Already a very well established singer in Finland in roles such as Anne Trulove (Rake's progress), Susanna (Nozze di FIgaro), Adele (Fledermaus), Adina (L'elisir d'amore), Gilda (Rigoletto) and Pamina (Zauberflöte) in prestigious houses and festivals such as Savonlinna Opera Festival and Finnish National Opera we look forward to take her career to the next level in Europe.
 
 
Balke, Vigilius and Møller in Fliegende Holländer

On the 30th of July, Michael Balke conducts his first "Der Fliegende Holländer" at the summer festival "Opera på Skäret" in Kopparberg, Sweden. It also marks his debut as conductor in Sweden.

In the two casts of singers are Danish tenor Magnus Vigilius who has stage- and role debut as Eric, and Danish baritone Lars Møller singing his first Holländer and having stage debut at "Skäret", marking a new step in the dramatic repertoire he is starting to sing.

Conny Thimander sings Ferrando in Sweden
Swedish tenor Conny Thimander sings Ferrando in W. A. Mozart's "Così fan tutte" at Confidencen (Ulrikdals Slottstheater) in Stockholm with debut on 20 of July 2016.
This is followed by performances on 21,23,24,27,28,30,31 of July and 3,4,6,7,10,11,13,14 of August 2016
Savonlinna debut for Kristian Benedikt and Yana Kleyn in Otello

Lithuanian tenor Kristian Benedikt and Yana Kleyn have debut at the prestigious Savonlinna Festival in Finland, as Otello and Desdemona.

The role of Desdemona marks the role debut of Yana Kleyn in the role where as the titel role is the 12th production of Mr. Benedikt.

Premiere is on 08 of July followed by performances on 12, 19, 21, 27 and 29 of July 2016.

 
Christel Elizabeth Smith at Bergen International Festival
On the 26 and 27 of May 2016, Christel Elizabeth Smith has her debut at the prestigious Bergen International Festival.
She sings the soprano part in a dramatised concert of Bach Cantatas "Falsche Welt, dir trau ich nicht".
 
World famous stage director Peter Konwitschny is behind the project, which continues on 1,2,3,4/06; 11,12,14,16,18,19/06 2016 at Theater Chur (Switzerland) and Teater Trier (Germany).
 
Re-premiere for Yana Kleyn as Liù
Danish/Russian soprano Yana Kleyn sings the re-premiere at Royal Opera in Stockholm as Liù in Turandot on the 25 of May 2016.
This is followed by performances on 28, 31 of May and 2, 7 and 10 of June.
 
Tadas Girininkas and Yana Kleyn sings Dvorak Requiem

Lithuanian bass Tadas Girinikas and Russian/Danish soprano Yana Kleyn sing Dvorak's Requiem with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra on the 12 of May 2016.

Pitrenas with Sct. Petersburg Philharmonic

On the 28 of April 2016, the Lithuanian conductor Modestas Pitrenas had his debut with St. Peterburg Philharmonic conducting Griegst "Im Herbst" and Piano Concerto, as well as Tchakovsky's "Hamlet" and 1812 Overture.

Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs has her long anticipated debut as Turandot at Oslo Opera on 30.04.2016.

Così in Stockholm.

On 24/04 2016 Luthando Qave sings Guglielmo and Khanyiso Gwenxane sings Ferrando in the re-premiere of Cosí van tutte at the Royal Opera in Stockholm.

This is followed by performances on 26, 29 of April, 3, 5, 9, 13, 16, 19, 30 of May 2016.

 
Dmitry Bertman staging Golden Cockerel in DOAR

Russian renowned Stage Director, Dmitry Bertman, stages a new production of The Little Golden Cockerel (Золотой петушок) at Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Germany.

Premiere is on 15/04 2016 followed by further performances on 17, 23, 27, 30/04; 04,08, 15/05 2016.


 
 
World premiere for Olga Heikkilä
The Finnish soprano Olga Heikkilä sings Kassandra in the world premiere of Steingrimur Rohloff's opera "Lysistrate" on 14/04 2016 at Den Fynske Opera (The Fuenen Opera) in Denmark.
 
Further performances on 15,19,20,21/4 2016.

 
Walküre in Odense

On 15/04 2016,  Finnish soprano Miina-Liisa Värelä sings Sieglinde, Kristian Benedikt sings Siegmund and Sandra Fechner sings Grimgerde in Richard Wagner's Walküre.

The concertant performance is in Odense, Denmark with Odense Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alexander Vedernikov.

 
Mastrangelo and Yankovsky with Aarhus Symphony Orchestra

Italian/Russian Conductor Fabio Mastrangelo and Russian baritone Pavel Yankovsky are the guest soloists with Aarhus Symphony Orchestra in Denmark.

First concert is on 14/04 2016 in Musikhuset in Aarhus and second on 15/04 in "Alsion" in Sønderborg.

On 07/04 2016, Yana Kleyn and Ola Eliasson sings the re-premiere of Don Giovanni as Donna Anna and Don Giovanni at Royal Opera in Stockholm.

Brangäne debut for Anne-Theresa Møller

 

 On the 08 of April 2016, Anne-Theresa Møller has her stage and role debut as Brangäne in Tristan und Isolde at Landestheater Niederbayern in Germany.
 
Further performances on 14, 30/04; 05, 26/05 (Landshut); 14,16/04; 20, 22/05 (Passau) and 26/04 in Straubing.
 
Sofie Jensen in "Powder Her Face"

Sofie Jensen has her debut in the very demanding role(s) of Maid, Confidante, Waitress, Mistress, Rubbernecker, Society Journalist, in Thomas Ades' "Powder her face".
Premiere at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen is on 19-03-2016, followed by performances on 22-03; 01, 03, 09, 16/04 2016.

Bertman in Helsinki
On the 18-03-2016 Dmitry Bertman's production of Stravinsky's "Rakes Progress" has premiere at the Finnish National Opera.Eivind Gullberg Jensen is conducting and among the soloists are Tom Rakewell sung by Steve Davislim, Anne sung by Hanna Rantala and Nick Shadow sung by Tuomas Pursio.This is followed by further performances on 19, 30/03; 01, 09, 16, 21, 27, 29/04 and 06/05 2016.
Breakthrough for Miina-Liisa Värela in Germany
Soprano Miina-Liisa Värela gets her breakthrough in Germany with role- and stage debut at Theater Bremen as Senta in R. Wagner's "Fliegende Holländer" on 06/03 2016.This is followed by performances on 6/3; 6,16/4; 7/5; 8/6 2016.In May 2016 she has her debut as Sieglinde with Odense Symphony Orchestra and Vedernikov followed by Rosalinde in Fledermaus at Finnish National Opera.
