Among the important engagements in February 2019 are:
 
Svetlana Moskalenko has important house debut at Deutsche Oper Berlin, alongside Joseph Calleja, with performances on 04, 08/02.
 
Luthando Qave sings his first Silvio in Pagliacci at Gothenburg Opera with premiere on 09/02 with a total of 13 performances until 31 of March.
 
Ola Eliasson debuts in the role of Roderick Usher in Usher at Folkoperan in Stockholm with performances from 14/02 until 10/03.
 
Daniel Svensson sings Rodolfo in La Boheme touring all of Denmark with 21 performances from 10/02-23/03. The production is co-produced between Opera i Midten, Den Fynske Opera and Undergrunden.
January 2019

Svetlana Moskalenko has role- and house debut as Lucia in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor with performances on 02, 13, 19, 27/01 and 02/02.
 
Andrea Pellegrini sings new year concerts tour with Trondheim Symphony Orchestra on 04 and 05/01 and Eric Fennell tours Northern Norway with Nordnorsk Opera with concerts on 05, 06, 08, 10, 11, 12/01.
 
Sofie Jensen sings Valencienne in the Merry Widow with Odense SO on 09, 10, 17, 19, 22/01.
 
Kristian Benedikt sings Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and Don José at Lithuanian National Opera on 09, 10, 17, 19 and 22/01.
 
Lars Møller returns to Lanestheater Niederbayern to guest as Holländer on 17/01.

Simon Duus sings Händel's Messiah with Akademisk Kor and Emma Sventelius sings Weihnachtsoratorium with Odense Symphony Orchestra.
 
Francine Vis, Sophie Jensen and Simon Duus sings Weihnachtsoratorium with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra on 20, 21 and 22.12.
 
Svetlana Moskalenko has role debut as Contessa di Folleville at the Bolshoi Opera on 14 and 16 of December.

Magnus Vigilius sing Boris at National Theatre Brno on 11 and 19 of November.
 
Luthando Qave has his long awaited Carnegie Hall debut on 12.11 with Tippett's "A child of our time".
 
Lars Møller sings and makes recording of Beethoven 9 with Danmarks Underholdningsorkester and Yana Kleyn sings Mussorgsky's "Songs and Dances of Death" at Stockholm Concert Hall.
 

 

 

October 2018
Luthando Qave sings songs Tebogo Monnakgotla with the Gävle Symphony Orchestra on 04 and 05 of October:
 
Francine Vis and Johanne Højlund have Carmen debut's and Lars Møller and Leif Jone Ølberg has Escamillo debut on 05/10 followed by 22 more performances all over Denmark.
 
On the 06 of October Svetlana Moskalenko has house debut at Volksoper Wien as Königin der Nacht singing a total of 4 performances.
 
 

 

September 2018
Toi toi tonight on the 14th of September to Miina-Liisa Värelä. She has her house debut as Senta in "Fliegende Holländer" at Finnish National Opera, followed by 6 more performances until 11 of October.
 
Алексей Тихомиров (Alexey Tikhomirov) will sing Shostakovich Symphony 13 on 21,22 and 25.09, with Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Riccardo Muti

Magnus Vigilius sang , on 31.08 and 01.09, the demanding role of Celebrant in Bernstein's "Mass" at its first performances ever in Denmark, with Odense Symphony Orchestra. On 26.09 he will have his house debut at Opera de Dijon as Steva in "Jenufa" followed by two more peformances.

Emma Sventelius has her role debut as Carmen and Conny Thimander as Remendado at Malmö Opera on the 15. singing a staggering 26 performances!!

Lars Møller sings another round of Holländer at Landstheater Niederbayern with premiere on 22.09.

On 21.09 Sibylle Glosted will sing the premiere (house/role debut) in "Fantom of the opera" at "Det Ny Teater" in Copenhagen as Christine Daaé, Rasmus Jupin as Ubaldo Piangi. Cassandra Lemoine will also appear as Christine in later performances. The musical plays until end April 2019.

 

Passagerin in Aarhus

Scandinavian premiere on 22.08.18 of Mieczyslaw Weinberg's "The Passenger" (Passazhirka) in Aarhus with Danish National Opera (Jyske Opera).
Stage director is Philipp Kochheim and conductor Christopher Lictenstein.
Toi toi to the two wonderful singers Leif Jone Ølberg who will both sing "Tadeusz" AND play the violin, and to Johanne Højlund who will sing Krystina!!
If you miss, there is still a chance on 24, 26 and 28 of August.

Raimondo, Normanno and Arturo at Hedeland

 

On 4th of August, the is role- and stage debut to Rasmus Jupin as "Arturo", Jonathan Asmund Koppel as "Normanno" and Steffen Bruun Rørvig as "Raimondo" in "Lucia di Lammermoor" at Denmark's answer to Arena di Verona, OPERA HEDELAND. Followed by two more performances.
Johannes Schmid regi at Läckö Slot

 German opera- and movie director Johannes Schmid has directed Marschner's "Der Vampyr" for the first time ever in Sweden.
Premiere is 15th of July 2018 followed by 12 more performances.

Kleyn, Benedikt and Girininkas in La Juive
Yana Kleyn sings the very demanding role debut as Rachel in Fromental Halévy's "La Juive" tonight on 14 of June 2018 followed by 10 more performances until 9 of July.
The production takes place in 3 historic locations (one outdoor) in Konstanz, Germany. This city was place of the "Konzil von Konstanz" 600 years ago in 1418, which is what the original story of La Juive is based upon.

 

Also in the cast is Kristian Benedikt as a fantastic Eleazar, Tadas Girininkas as a superb Cardinal Broigny all directed by the wonderful stage director Johannes Schmid.

The RIng in Odense

 

For the inauguration of "Odeon", the new culture house in Odense, R. Wagner's "Der Ring des Niebelungen" is playing two times from 22nd of May to 3rd of June.
I wish huge toi toi to the whole production, especially Miina-Liisa Värelä as Sieglinde; Kristian Benedikt as Siegmund; Torsten Kerl as BOTH Siegfrieds; Magnus Vigilius as Froh; Andrea Pellegrini as Rossweise and Flosshilde, and Johanne Bock as Grimgerde....
 
Qave debut in Göteborg Opera

Luthando Qave had his house debut on 24th of March as Figaro in "Il Barbiere di Sevilla" by Rossini.

Jump in Senta
Miina-Liisa Värelä jump in on 07.02 2018 and sang Senta in "Fliegende Holländer" at Lithuanian National Opera in Vilnius on days notice...
Flight from Berlin to Vilnius with middle landing in Riga this morning. Received the cuts in the score, video of performance last night and now ready to go on stage in a production she never did before...
Always scary and cool when singers say yes to these last minutes challenges...

 

Conny Thimander as Tanzmeister and Scaramuccio

Huge toi toi to Conny Thimander who has his debut on 03.02.2018 as Tanzmeister and Scaramuccio in Richard Strauss' "Aridane auf Naxos" on Gothenburg Opera (Göteborgs Operan)

The opera has been directed by Rodula Gaitanou and conductor is Patrik Ringborg.
Further performances on 07, 11, 15, 18,21, 24 of February and 01 and 04 of March 2018.
Qave, Ølberg and Duus in Barbiere in Copenhagen
Luthando Qave in his house and role debut as Figaro and superb Simon Duus in his role debut as Basilio in G. Rossini's "Il barbiere di Sevilla" tonight on the 27 of January at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen.

Alternating with Luthando Qave as Figaro is Leif Jone Ølberg in later shows.

Stage director is Reumert awarded dramatic stage director Martin Lyngbo in his first production as opera director and conductor is Vincenzo Milletarì.

Trovatore with Lana Kos in Bern
Tonight on the 27 of January 2018, Lana Kos has her house debut at Konzert Theater Bern as Leonora in G. Verdi's "Il Trovatore".
Conductor is Jochem Highest Bach and stage director is Markus Bothe.
 
This marks her second production of Trovatore in the 17/18 season together with Graz and is followed by further performances on 31/1; 16,18,23/02; 6,14,23/3; 11,20/4 2018.

 

On the 19 and 20 of January 2018, Arnold Schöberg's huge cantata "Gurrelieder" can be heard in Aalborg and Aarhus in Denmark as a cooperation between Aarhus Symph. Orchestra and Aalborg Symph. Orchestra and Jutland Music Conservatory.

The composition is extremely rarely done in Denmark due to the enormous amounts of musicians and choir involved so Ascolta Artists is extremely proud to present Miina-Liisa Värelä as the soprano, Elena Kerl as Mezzo and Torsten Kerl and Arnold Bezuyen as tenors in these two epic concerts.

All under the baton of Marc Soustrot.

 

Austrian debut for Elena Mikhailenko

The Russian dramatic soprano, Elena Mikhailenko, has her Austrian debut on 25.11.2017 in the title role of Amilvare Ponchielli's "Gioconda" at Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck.

This marks her second production of "Gioconda in 2017 after her big success at Malmö Opera.

Fabio Mastrangelo continues his international success

Maestro Fabio Mastrangelo was the pillar of an amazing opera gala concert with Hamilton Symphony Orchestra in Canada on the 22nd of October with American soprano Shelley Jackson and Lithuanian tenor Kristian Benedikt. He arrived, with only a few days in between in Russia, after huge success conducting Mozart's "Die Entführung aus dem Serail" at Brucknerhaus Linz at the 10th of October.
