Gilda jump in and Cunning Little Vixen

Finnish soprano Hanna Rantala made a great jump in as Gilda in Rigoletto on the 5th of October 2017 at Royal Opera Copenhagen on top of her rehearsals as Cunning Little Vixen at Finish National Opera where she sang the Vixen again on 14th of October with further performances at 20,28/10; 7,9/11 2017.

 
International top conductor to Ascolta Artists

Ascolta Artists is proud to announce cooperation with the Italian international top conductor GIAMPAOLO BISANTI for Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Most recently he has been appointed General Music Director of the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari.

Recent seasons include major opera productions in houses such as Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro Liceo in Barcelona, Oper Zürich, New National Theatre in Tokyo, Semperoper Dresden and Wiener Staatsoper.

Future seasons his international demand is underlined by top houses and festivals such as Choregies d’Orange, Zürich, Tokyo, Dresden, Zürich and Wien.

 
Lakmé debut for Moskalenko in Sweden

On the of October 2017 at Malmö Opera, the Russian rising star soprano Svetlana Moskalenko will have her long awaited role- stage- and country debut as the Indian priestess Lakmé, in Léo Delibes opera.

Stage director is Nicola Raab and the orchestra is conducted by Philippe Auguin....

Mrs. Moskalenko can be heard on further performances on 12,19,24/10; 4,9/11 2017.

Belcore at Danish National Opera

Danish baritone Lars Møller has premiere on 06.10 2017 as Belcore in Odense, Denmark with Danish National Opera
The production is touring all of Denmark over the next two months and Mr. Møller sings further performances on 6,26,29/10; 3,15,18,20,29/11; 1/12 2017.

Per-Otto Johansson is conducting and stage director is Harry Fehr.

Two sopranos in Ascolta Artists have house- and role debut on the 30th of September 2017.

Miina-Liisa Värelä sings her first Fäberin in Richard Strauss' "Frau ohne Schatten" in Landestheater Linz.

Lana Kos has her debut as Leonora in G. Verdi's "Trovatore" at Oper Graz with Ben Baur as stage director and Andrea Sanguineti conduucts.

House debuts for Yana Kleyn and Magnus Vigilius
On the 29th of September Yana Kleyn has her house debut at Théâtre de Metz Métropole singing her 66th performance of Mimì in "La Bohème" a la Moulin Rouge.
Stage director is Paul-Émile Fourny and Roberto Rizzi Brignoli conducts. Further performances on 1st and 3rd of October 2017.
 
On the same day Magnus Vigilius has house debut at Stockholm Royal Opera singing Steva in Leoš Janáček's "Jenufa" in the staging of Annilese Miskimmon and under the baton of Jonathan Darlington. Further performances on 5,11,23,25,30/10 2017.
 
Three upcoming Scandinavian singers joins Ascolta
Three upcoming young Scandinavian singers joins the roster of Ascolta Artists.
 
The Danish lyric coloratura soprano Sybille Glosted is a promising young singer who impressed the Royal Opera in Stockholm so much during her Royal Academy time that they chose her as Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro.
 
Johanne Højlund is a lyric Danish mezzo soprano who enjoys her first season at Norwegian National Opera and then continues her 18/19 season with major roles at Danish National Opera.
 
Norwegian baritone Leif Jone Ølberg sings his first Figaro in Barbiere this season at Royal Danish Opera and continues with major roles at Danish National Opera in the 18/19 season.
 
Lars Møller as Holländer in Detmold

Lars Møller has his German debut as Holländer in R. Wagner's "Fliegende Holländer" at Landestheater Detmold on the 10th of September 2017.

Further performances on the17 and 24/09; 08, 22/10; 06/12 2017 and on 20/01; 03 and 20/03 2018.

 
Siegmund debut for Magnus Vigilius
Magnus Vigilius has his long awaited debut as Siegmund in Esbjerg, Denmark on the 25th of August 2017 alongside a strong cast of singers such as Cornelia Beskow as Sieglinde and James Johnson as Wotan, under the direction of Kasper Wilton and baton of Lars Ole Mathiasen.
Further performances on 27th and 29th of August.
 
Mr. Vigilius follows a strong tradition of Wagner tenors from Denmark dating back more than 130 years from Vilhelm Herold over Lauritrz Melchior and Helge Rosvaenge to Poul Elming, Stig Fogh Andersen and David Danholt.

Among his future engagements ar roles in prestigious houses such as Royal Opera Stockholm, Danish National Opera, Teatro Regio Torino and Opéra de Dijon.
 
Busy Festival

Copenhagen Opera Festival is running at full speed from 30 of July to 09 of August under the leadership of Peter Lodahl

Ascolta Artists is proud to present a long row of upcomming- and top international singers at the festival such as Svetlana Moskalenko singing the title role in Lakme, Kristian Benedikt in the big gala concert singing Otello, Don Carlos and Manrico among others, Leif Jone Ølberg as Silvio, Teit Kanstrup as Tonio and Rasmus Jupin as Canio in Pagliacci.

Other singers at the festival include Sofie Elkjær Jensen and Yana Kleyn.

Hanna Rantala has debut as Gilda in Savonlinna

Hanna Rantala just finished her role debut at the prestigious Savonlinna Festival as Gilda in Giuseppe Verdi's "Rigoletto" singing 3 performances during July 2017 with Philippe Auguin as conductor and David McVicar as stage director.
In the fall 2017 she sings Cunning Little Vixen at Finish National Opera.

On the 9th of June, Finnish soprano Miina-Liisa Värelä has house debut in the leading role of Senta in Wagner's "Fliegende Holländer" at Theater Lübeck in their new production of the opera.

GMD Ryusuke Numajiri is conducting Chor des Theater Lübeck and Philharmoniches Orchester der Hansestadt Lübecks and Aniara Amos is behind the stage direction.
Further performances on 09, 15, 24 of June and 09 of July 2017.
 
Balke conducts Lawrence Brownlee and Sarah Coburn
On June 3rd Michael Balke conducts one of the highlights of Tivoli Summer Festival in Copenhagen when he leads a belcanto-opera gala in Tivoli Concert Hall, Copenhagen with the world opera stars Sarah Coburn and Lawrence Brownlee joining forces with Tivoli Symphony Orchestra and program presenter Henrik Engelbrecht.

Larence Brownlee was recently named "Male Singer of the Year" for the 2017 International Opera Awards
 
 
 
Mezzo Andrea Pellegrini joins Ascolta Artists

One of Denmark's most sought after and awarded mezzo-sopranos Andrea Pellegrini has joined Ascolta Artists as general management.

Her opera repertoire ranges from early baroque over bel-canto and Wiener classic to contemporary music and as oratorio singer she is in high demand all over Scandinavia.

Besides these activities she has an extensive repertoire as a lied singer and a keen interest in crossing genres, putting classical music into an alternative context and consequently bringing it to new audiences, thus adding to her diversity as an artist.

Among her awards can be mentioned the prestigious "Annual Prize of the Music Critics’ Association of Denmark".

 
Queen of Spades in Luzern
On the 26 of May 2017, Kristian Benedikt, Pavel Yankovsky and Tadas Girininkas will sing respectively Hermann, Prince Yeletsky and Surin in a concertant version of Tchaikovsky's "Queen of Spades" (Пиковая дама) with Luzerner Sinfonieorchester in Switzerland.
Tadas Girininkas continues on the 27 of May in Luzern with singing the bass part of Igor Stavinsky's "Les Noches".
 
Barbiere debut for Luthando Qave

On the 20th of May, Luthando Qave had his debut as Figaro in Rossini's Barbiere di Seviglia with Opera Zuid in the Netherlands with Per-Otto Johansson as conductor.


The performances is followed by 15 further performances all over the Netherlands, ending on 4th of July in Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

Møller and Duus in world premiere
Danish baritone Lars Møller sings the main role of Martin Luther, and Danish bass-baritone Simon Duus sings Spalatin, in thw world premiere of Bo Holten's new opera "Schlagt sie tot!".

The concertant version of the 1st act takes place in "Musikhuset Aarhus" on 20 of May 2017, with Aarhus Symphony Orchestra and Bo Holten himself as conductor, as part of Aarhus as European Cultural City of Europe and to celebrate 500 years of the reformation.
HRM Queen Margrethe II will attend the concert.
 
 
Stage- and movie director Johannes Schmid joins Ascolta Artists

Ascolta Artists is proud to announce the general management of German movie- and stage director Johannes Schmid.
He has directed more than 40 productions in houses such as Teatro alla Scala Milano, DOAR, Dortmund and Salzburger Festspiele as well as several feature films, latest the reviewer praised movie "Agnes" from 2016.
His recent and future engagments, besides feature film for the big screen in 2018, includes "Snow Queen" at Deutsche Oper am Rhein", "The abduction from... the Serail" in child version at Teatro alla Scala and L'italiana in Algeri in a re-written version at Baden Baden Festspiele as well as La Juive in Konstanz.

Swedish tenor Conny Thimander continues his success at Malmö Opera, with great reviews, in the short but very demanding part of "Sandon" in Karl-Birger Blomdahl's revolutionary science fiction opera "Aniara" from 1959.


The opera had premiere on 06/05, and can be heard again on 11,14,18,21,30/05 and 2,7/06 2017.
Rani Calderon joins Ascolta Artists

The internationally renowned conductor and composer Rani Calderon has joined the roster of Ascolta Artists.

We are happy to welcome a very versatile conductor in both the opera and symphonic genres, with an extensive repertoire.

Mr. Calderon became the musical director of the Filarmonica de Santiago in 2010 and the music director at Opéra national de Lorrain in 2015, a position he currently maintains.
 
He has conducted  with the leading international oper houses and orchestras such as Semper Oper Dresden, Theater an der Wien, La Monnaie, The Royal Danish Opera, Monte-Carlo, Toulon and Bilbao
