Biography

The Danish soprano Sofie Lund is trained at the Royal Danish Opera Academy and Royal College of Music in London, where she finished her studies summer 2022.
 
Sofie has a beautiful and flexible light lyric coloratura soprano with a pleasant blend of warm and bright colors in her sound.
 
In 2021-22 season Sofie performed the roles of Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hanzel and Gretel at Verbier Festival (Atelier Lyrique), Waldvogel in Siegfried at Den Ny Opera in Esbjerg and Angina in the premiere of Louise Alenius’s new written opera Manualen.
 
Sofie has a keen interest in the modern repertoire, and has sung music by Hans Werner Henze, Thomas
Adès and the Danish composer Ib Nørholm.
 
Furthermore Sofie has performed as a soloist in, Händel’s Messiah, Bach’s Christmas Oratorium, and latest Mendelsohn’s Ein Sommernacht’s Traum with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra. Her future engagements include Orfeo at the Royal Danish Opera with Concerto Copenhagen.
 
This Summer Sofie received the Prix Thiery award at Verbier Festival. In 2017 she received the Augustinus foundation 75th anniversary scholarship, which was granted especially talented musician.
