Biography

The Austrian tenor started his musical education as choir boy at St.Florian boys choir. After this he studied voice pedagogy and opera voice at Brucknerkonservatory in Linz, University of music and performing arts in Vienna, at Mozarteum Salzburg. He participated in Masterclasses with Giacomo Aragall and Mirella Freni.

From 2018 Mr. Paul is freelancer opera singer. His recent engagements include Calaf (Turandot) at Immling Opera Festival, Bolshoi Opera Theatre in Minsk and Opera Kiev, Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffmann) at Theater Hagen, Ismaele (Nabucco) at Oper Essen, Radames (Aida) at Den Jyske Opera, Denmark.
 
During earlier seasons he sang at Oper Dortmund (2017-18), with roles of Matteo (Arabella), Lensky (Eugene Onegin), Ismaele (Nabucco); at Theater Erfurt (2016-17) with roles of Don José (Carmen), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Sou Chong (Das Land des Lächelns), Vaudémont (Iolanta), Duca (Rigoletto), Manrico (Il trovatore). In 2015 he sang Leopold (La Juive) at Opera de Nice, Alfredo (La traviata) at  Schlossfestspiele in Schwerin and Rodolfo (La traviata) at Mecklemburgisches Staatsoper.
 
In 2012-15 Mr. Paul was ensemble soloist ar Volksoper Wien, where he performed Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Baron Krontal (Wildschütz), Jaquieno (Fidelio) and Alfredo (La traviata). And while being a part of the ensemble of Tyrolean Landestheater (intendant Brigitte Fassbaender) in 2008-12 he had to cover versatile repertoire from musicals to Italian opera and Wagner. He sang Froh (Das Rheinfold), Fenton (Falstaff), Adam (Vogelhändler), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Marius (Les Misérables) there.
