Biography

Louise (b. 1997) is a Danish/New Zealand soprano based in Copenhagen. She graduated her master’s degree with honours in summer 2023 from The Royal Danish Opera Academy. Prior to this, she studied at The Royal Danish Academy of Music and at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.
 
Louise has made her stage debut at the Royal Danish Opera as 5. Magd in Strauss’ Elektra in March 2023. In the 2023/2024 season she joined The Royal Danish Opera as a member of the Young Artist Ensemble, doing roles such as Sacerdotessa in Verdi’s Aida and Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.
 
Louise's artistic work already embraces an enormous range. She has had huge successes in oratorios, operas, Lieder – including the latest vocal repertoire. She is also renowned for approaching every new task with a very high level of professionalism.
 
Louise is a highly sought-after concert singer. Despite her young age, she has already made a name for herself as she has, among other things, been a soloist with The Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Jönköping Sinfonietta, Ensemble Storstrøm, The Royal Danish Orchestra and Concerto Copenhagen.
 
Louise won the first ever held Rued Langgaard competition in 2021 together with pianist Kristian Riisager and just released a solo album with his songs with the DaCapo recording label.
 
In summer 2022 Louise was awarded the Carl Nielsen and Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen's talent prize and the Léonie Sonnings Talent Prize for her promising talent in 2023.
