Biography

Fabian Düberg is a young Swedish tenor who is quickly getting recognition for his singing and acting talents alike.

He received his bachelor in Stockholm and is currently in his Master studies at the prestigious MDW in Wien. Alongside his studies he has made his debut as Monostatos (Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte) at the Royal Swedish Opera, acted in the ensemble of Jedermann at the Salzburger Festspiele two consecutive years, sang in the world premiere of Salvatore Sciarrino's Venere e Adone at the Hamburgische Staatsoper conducted by Kent Naggano, and is since April 2024 a part of the opera ensemble of Theater Bremen.

In Bremen he has been performing a diverse array of characters, from Truffaldino (The Love for Three Oranges),  Hannibal (35 Mai), to 1 Jude (Salome), and he is presently preparing the role of Hilmar in the world premiere of Wellen composed by Elmar Lampson and conducted by Yoel Gamzou.

Next season he can be heard in roles such as Goro (Madama Butterfly), Mephisto (The fiery Angel), and Chevalier Belfiore (Il viaggio a Reims). Other roles of note are Basilio (Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro), Eisenstein (J.Strauss' Die Fledermaus), Tanzmeister and Scaramuccio (R.Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos).

Coming from an acting family (his grandfather can be seen in some films by Ingmar Bergman), Fabian was in a matter of speaking raised on stage but is the first one to establish himself as a classical singer. He is however devoted to staying true to his acting heritage and to bringing modern theater into opera in all projects he undertakes yet always prioritizing the music.

Apart from opera, Fabian can be heard in concerts, recitals, and oratorios.
