Russian tenor Yaroslav Abaimov joined the Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow in 2010 .
Among his recent engagements are debut in the role of Carlo (Linda di Chamounix) at the Bolshoi Theatre (2022), and debut at La Scala Theatre with the role of The Fool (Boris Godunov) for the opening of the 2022/23 season. Recently he also performed l'Astrologue (Rimsky-Korsakov’s Le coq d'or) at Opéra National de Lorraine.
Yaroslav's repertoire includes Lensky (Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin), Simpleton (Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov), Prince Ramiro (Rossini's La Cenerentola), Count Almaviva (Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia), Peter Quint (Britten’s The Turn of the Screw), and others.
In 2020 he sang Nadir (Bizet`s Les pêcheurs de perles) at the Bolshoi Theatre, where in 2018 he has made his debut as Il Conte d’Almaviva (Rossini’s ll barbiere di Siviglia)under the button of P.G. Morandi. Yaroslav made his Nadir role debut as the guest soloist with the Nationale Reisopera (Netherlands) in 2015, and in 2016 performed the role of Ferrando (Mozart`s Così fan tutte). In 2015, he made his Bolshoi Theatre debut as Simpleton in Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov.
In 2007, the singer performed the tenor part in Mozart’s Requiem with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia led by Vladimir Spivakov at the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Eifman St. Petersburg Ballet. In 2009, Yaroslav Abaimov performed the same part with the Minsk Philharmonic Orchestra led by Galanov and Lucas in Haydn’s The Seasons, conducted by Gómez Martines, at the Fetes Musicales de Savoie Festival in France.
In 2005 Abaimov graduated from the Sveshnikov Choral College, in 2010 – from the Popov Choral Academy with degrees in singing (Nesterenko’s class) and in choral conducting (Gavdush’s class).
In 2007–2008 he attended master classes of Giandomenico Bisi, Gloria Borelli (Italy) and George Darden (USA) at the Moscow International Vocal School.
Abaimov is prize-winner if Pirogov All-Russia Vocal Competition (Ryazan, 2005), the 21-st Century Art International Competition (Vorzel, Ukraine, 2006) and International Singing Competition (Almaty, Kazakhstan, 2013).
