Biography

French dramatic soprano, Anne Derouard studied in the prestigious Sorbonne (Paris) and received a Master of Musicology. She also obtained her Singing Prize as well as her Prize of Chamber Music and her Prize of Music Theory in Nice Conservatory. She had the honour to be invited by Dalton Baldwin to the International Music Academy of Villecroze and received a scholarship to go to the Festival of Bayreuth.
 
Thereafter she perfected for 2 years at the Moscow Conservatory before meeting her American coach Neil Semer who allowed her voice to find her fullness.
 
This season, she has been invited by Malmö Opera House to sing her first Turandot conducted by Daniel Carter and directed by Sofia Jupither.
         
Her outstanding vocal capacities and her talent as an actress allow this young dramatic soprano to approach the Grand French Repertoire as well as the German, Italian and Russian ones.
 
Her operatic debut was noticed in Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte conducted by Olivier Holt, and she was given the title role of Verdi's Aida in Ukraine. Then she was Brünnhilde in Richard Wagner’s Die Walküre conducted by Alexandre Myrat.
 
She was invited to the Berlin Philharmonia to sing Beethoven's 9th Symphony conducted by Seitaro Hishikawa. She sung on a tour in France in several productions of the Clermont-Ferrand Opera House Rossini’s Barbiere di Siviglia and the title role of La Grande Duchesse de Gérolstein by Offenbach in which her voice and her stage presence were particularly cheered by the specialized press and the ovation of the public.
 
She has been invited by the Nürnberg Opera House to sing Benjamin Britten's War Requiem conducted by Joana Mallwitz in the huge Meistersingerhalle.
 
She did her Wagnerian debut in 2020 at the Erfurt Opera House with the exceptional role of Ortrud in Lohengrin conducted by Myron Michailidis. In Erfurt again, she has been offered the beautiful role of Joan of Arc in Tchaïkovsky’s Orleanskaya Deva conducted by Yannis Pouspourikas.
 
Her talent is awarded by several Prizes: First Prize in the competition Les Maîtres du Chant Français, Audience Prize and 3rd Prize in the International Competition of the Medoc, Finalist of the International Opera Competition in the Bolchoi, 1st Prize and Audience Prize in the Bordeaux Opera House Competition, Honorary Prize and 1st Prize in Les Musicales du Centre Competition.
 
Since then, her career as concert performer has developed and she is employed as a soloist in many oratorios such as the Coronation Mass and Solemn Vespers for a Confessor by Mozart, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Bach's Magnificat, Zeisl’s Requiem Ebraico... in prestigious places in France and abroad.
